Joe was an original founder of the Coffee Plantation shops all over the valley. When he tired of the coffee business, he decided to try his hand at BBQ. Joe loves old BBQ joints in Texas. Therefore, he picked the 1929 original brick building in downtown to create Joe’s BBQ. Good job Joe. Using old buildings to create modern concepts is awesome!

This giant barrel started out as an A&W Root Beer stand in the 1950’s. It is believed this stand may have inspired this patented design in 1952.
Another cool fact: the founder of A&W Root Beer purchased the formula for his root beer from a pharmacist in Arizona in the 1920’s.
The building still stands, but has changed owners and menus over the years. It currently houses a carne asada chain.
