Valley Art Theater
509 South Mill Avenue
Tempe, AZ 85281
The Valley Art, which opened in 1940 as the College Theater, was the third theater in what has since grown to become the Southwest’s largest independently owned chain, Harkins Theaters.
For years, this theater was home the Rocky Horror Picture Show die hards who would spend Friday and Saturday nights watching live performances. Rocky has since moved, but the theater is still up and running modern art films and film festivals.
